Safeguarding Team

At Battling Brook, we feel it is a priority to have systems in place to protect children and safeguard their
welfare. It is therefore important that parents and carers are aware that there is a child protection team in school who can always be approached for advice and support.

The school will ensure:

  • That the children’s welfare and safety is paramount
  • All concerns raised are dealt with sensitively, effectively and promptly following our policies and procedures
  • That all staff receive appropriate safeguarding training in line with national timescales and regularly receive updates including changes to the Safeguarding policy (including Child protection) and the most recent Keeping Children Safe in Education document
  • That all staff are clear on how to follow safeguarding procedures
  • That safer recruitment practices, which ensure appropriate checks are in place and are adhered to
  • That safeguarding is embedded in our curriculum within PSHE and the wider curriculum e.g. online safety, bullying, road safety etc.

This number is available 24 hours a day for urgent concerns. Phone 999 if a crime is being committed or if a child is in immediate danger.
